WHY 810 nm? - WAVELENGTH BENEFITS

The 810 nm wavelength is specifically chosen for its reduced absorption by melanin and hemoglobin. This allows the laser to penetrate deeper into tissues, as the absorption is minimized. As a result, treatments become more precise and effective, with less risk of unwanted side effects on surrounding tissues.
The advantage of the 810 nm wavelength lies in its ability to penetrate the sclera and treat conditions with excessive hemorrhage. This enhanced penetration ensures that the laser can reach deeper layers of the eye, providing optimal therapeutic results for a variety of retinal and glaucoma conditions.
Embrace the benefits of the 810 nm wavelength with the Merilas 810 Diode Laser, where advanced technology meets clinical excellence. Experience precise treatments with reduced absorption, allowing for enhanced safety and efficacy, and explore the full potential of deeper tissue penetration for improved patient outcomes in your ophthalmic practice.

Merilas 810
THE PRINCIPLE OF SHORT-PULSE

The short-pulse treatment mode is characterized by a sequence of bursts comprising microsecond pulses. This treatment mode aims to spare the tissue and minimize scarring by delivering non-visible, sub-threshold laser impacts. It effectively treats various retinal pathologies while avoiding ophthalmoscopically observable laser effects on the treated tissue. The short-pulse treatment is commonly utilized for sub-visible threshold laser treatments targeting the macular and perimacular areas. Extensive studies on 810nm wavelengths have demonstrated the clinical efficacy of sub-visible laser treatments without causing tissue damage.

■ Glaucoma: Transscleral cyclophotocoagulation
■ Retina: Retinopathy of the premature
■ Sub-Retinal choroidal neovascularization

TREATMENT TRANSSCLERAL CYLCOPHOTOCOAGULATION (TSCPC)
■ The ciliary body produces aqueous humor.
■ To decrease the production of aqueous humor, the ciliary body can be treated with a laser aimed at disrupting its structure. This process is known as ablation. ShortPulse technology enables a gentle treatment approach while achieving significant reduction in intraocular pressure (IOP).
■ When conventional medications and treatments have proven ineffective, particularly in the advanced stages of Glaucoma, (TSCPC) has demonstrated remarkable effectiveness and safety in reducing intraocular pressure.

ACCESSORIES

The standard accessories include a foot switch, transport case, and safety goggles. The delivery systems include laser indirect ophthalmoscope, transscleral probes, and laser endoprobes. The optional accessories include an external fan.
  • Foot switch: The foot switch is used to turn the laser on and off. It allows the surgeon to operate the laser without using their hands, which can help improve accuracy and reduce the risk of accidental firing.
  • Transport case: The transport case is used to store and transport the laser safely. It helps protect the device from damage during transportation and storage.
  • Safety goggles: The safety goggles are worn by the surgeon and other personnel in the room to protect their eyes from the laser light. They help prevent eye damage and reduce the risk of accidental exposure to laser radiation.
  • External fan (optional): The external fan is used to cool the laser device during operation. Lasers generate a lot of heat, and the external fan helps prevent the device from overheating and potentially malfunctioning.
